Strategic Exposure Group's current focus is helping organizations strengthen strategy development and executive decision making through practical applications of Generative AI. This work builds on more than three decades of executive operating, entrepreneurial, and advisory experience across finance, analytics, business leadership, strategic repositioning, and decision making under uncertainty.
While the technology is new, the objective is not. Generative AI is simply the latest tool we are applying to improve the quality of strategic decision making under uncertainty.
Our perspective is grounded not only in research and analysis, but also in experience gained through executive leadership, entrepreneurial ventures, advisory assignments, and the development of analytical frameworks for decision-making under uncertainty.
This experience spans large institutions, entrepreneurial ventures, and multiple industries, including financial services, healthcare information and analytics, consumer products, manufacturing, and information services.
Examples include:
Across these experiences, a common theme has emerged:
Important decisions are often constrained not by a lack of intelligence or effort, but by uncertainty, assumptions that remain unexamined, and developments that cannot be anticipated.
That observation led to our research on Unknown-Unknowns and how organizations can better prepare for events that cannot be anticipated or prevented.
Today, it also informs our work applying Generative AI to help decision makers examine a broader range and scope of alternatives, identify opportunities and uncertainties before narrowing to a preferred course of action, and strengthen strategy development.
The objective remains the same:
To improve the quality of strategic choices under uncertainty.
Whether the challenge involves strategy development, capital allocation, business repositioning, risk management, public policy, or the evaluation of emerging opportunities, our experience provides a practical foundation for helping decision makers identify opportunities, understand uncertainties, and make better strategic choices.
